A woman who was left battered and bruised after her car rolled onto its side following a collision on her way to work last week, has warned other drivers to take care when approaching the accident blackspot near St Day.
Anyeshka Wood, who lives at Penhalvean near Stithians, was driving on the Carharrack to Scorrier road when she turned right towards Chacewater and collided with a car coming in the opposite direction.
“A lady who lives on the corner said she sees an accident there every week,” said Mrs Wood, who was left black from shoulder to hip as a result of the accident. “There are no signs there to warn anyone.”
She is convinced the outcome would have been much different if she had not been driving her Honda CRV, which was written off. “The last thing the car did was save my life. It rolled onto its side and the airbag burst so all this smoke came out. I thought it was electrical and that the car was going to explode.
“I managed to un-jam my foot and climb up inside and then lots of people seemed to arrive from nowhere and helped me out.”
