A 51-year-old estate agent from Camborne who defrauded his customers, including elderly victims, has been jailed for 21 months.

Tim Glasson was sentenced on Wednesday, (October 15) to 21 months in prison at Truro Crown Court.

Detective Constable Jon Viant, investigating officer based in Camborne, said: “Tim Glasson has pleaded guilty to offences covering all aspects of his business as an estate agent.

“He has admitted to dishonestly keeping deposits paid for new build properties, keeping rents that should have been paid to landlords and keeping deposits that should have been paid into an approved deposit scheme.

“He abused his position of trust and during the past few years has caused financial hardship and anxiety for many of his customers.

“Today’s result shows that Devon and Cornwall Police are committed to bringing offenders to justice.”

Glasson was charged with 12 offences of fraud on Monday, May 20.
