A drink driver who crashed his car in Camborne was found when officers used a police dog to track him down.
Nathan Paul Allen, 25, of South Albany Road, Redruth, told officers he had not been the driver, however the next day admitted that this was not the truth.
Allen tested at 78 mcg, more than twice the legal limit. He pleaded guilty to drink driving on October 26.
His solicitor Paul Simons said he had not been in a good place at the time, with personal issues, and when he lost control of the car after drinking in a nearby pub, he panicked and left the vehicle.
Allen was fined £300 with £115 costs and surcharge and banned from driving for 18 months.
