A second-time drink driver caught driving when he was 25 points over the limit told Truro magistrates he was sorry but very stupid.

Police were alerted to his driving because he had no headlights on his car at 3.45 am in Camborne on October 25 and they saw him hit a lump of granite next to a hedge and drive excessively slowly.

Howard John Carson, 24, of Roseworthy, Camborne, pleaded guilty to drink driving, having registered 60 mcg alcohol in breath. He also admitted possessing cocaine and Mephedrone, together worth £30.

His previous conviction for drink driving was in 2013.

Carson, who told the magistrates he did not have a drink problem, was fined £145 with £105 costs and surcharge.
