Work is set to start on a new hotel at the JD Wetherspoon pub, The John Francis Basset, in Camborne next month.

The 35-bedroom hotel will be located above the pub in Commercial Street with Wetherspoon spending £2.7 million developing the hotel.

Building work is set to start mid-February with the hotel open for mid-July, with the new hotel set to create ten new jobs in the town.

It will feature a range of rooms, including those for guests with disabilities.

Wetherspoon chairman Tim Martin said: “We are looking forward to opening our new hotel in Camborne.

“It will be a great addition for the pub and we believe for the town too. Hopefully it will also act as a catalyst for other businesses to invest in the area.”

Wetherspoon opened its Camborne pub in 2011.
