Troubled supermarket behemoth Tesco has named the 43 stores it is closing across the country, however jobs are safe for now in Cornwall as staff in the duchy escape the axe.
Express and Home Plus stores targeted for closure will close on March 15 with the Tesco Metros and Superstores on the list closing on 4 April, with the closures expected to cost thousands of workers their jobs.
Seven superstores, six Homeplus stores, 18 Express and 12 Metro stores will close.
The 43 stores are being shut as part of cost cutting plans.
Tesco chief executive Dave Lewis said: "Our priority is to explain what this announcement means for our colleagues and, wherever possible, offer them alternative roles with Tesco," he added.
