A group of three men and one woman have pleaded not guilty to the murder of a vulnerable man who was found dead at his Camborne home almost a year ago.

The four defendants also denied a second charge of allowing the death of a vulnerable adult at a time when they allegedly shared a house with 63-year-old Terry Oldham last year.

Mr Oldham was found dead at his home at Dolcoath Road, Camborne, on the afternoon of April 1 last year, when police launched a murder inquiry.

He had lived in the house for many years with his pet Jack Russell dog and had also let rooms to a number of lodgers.

Aaron Mallon, aged 24, of Grenville Road, Falmouth; Michelle Casterton, aged 43, of the same address; Daniel Quinn, aged 23, of Tregullow Road, Falmouth; and Richard Rosevear, aged 32, of Truro Road, St Austell, all denied murder.

They all denied a second charge of causing or allowing the death of a vulnerable person while a member of the same household by failing to safeguard Mr Oldham from the foreseeable risk of physical harm.

The pleas were taken before Judge Graham Cottle, sitting at Exeter Crown Court, but the case is due to be tried before a jury at Truro Crown Court.

The judge set a date of October 12, 2015 for a trial which is expected to last five weeks and set a timetable for the exchange of any remaining evidence between the prosecution and defence.

Mr Paul Dunkels, QC, prosecuting, said some further forensic and medical evidence may be served.

Mallon was represented by Mr Robert Linford; Casterton by Mr Simon Laws, QC; Quinn by Miss Jo Martin, and Rosevear by Mr Ali Rafati.

Judge Cottle adjourned the cases for trial and remanded all four men in custody.
