Friends and family of a teenager who went missing on Saturday have paid tribute to a "beautiful" and "talented" teenager after a body was found in woodlands near her abandoned car.

Hannah Carpenter, 18, from Redruth, was reported missing at around 9.30pm, and a search was started involving the coastguard, Cornwall Rescue Group, and police, including dogs.

The Redruth Sixth Form student's car was located at Tehidy car park, and on Sunday, shortly before 8am, a young woman's body was found in nearby Tehidy Woods.

Although police have not released the identity of the body, tributes have poured in on Hannah's Facebook page.

Sister Katie Carpenter wrote: "All been to visit your flowers and cards Hannah Carpenter! Read every single one, some were very hard to read.

"Everyone has commented on your beauty and your insane talent.

"Thank you immensely to everyone who has been. What a wonderful gesture. Very much appreciated by the whole family."

Luke Pizazz Whitaker responded: "Hannah was the most uniquely wonderful human being I have ever been privileged and lucky enough to know. Glasses will be raised to her for years to come and the important thing is to keep the embers her fire left in our hearts alive."

Sophie James added: "Last night we lost a beautiful, caring and kind hearted girl and a very good friend. my condolences go to her family. Been such a difficult day, RIP Hannah Carpenter will miss you millions. Love you."
