Support is being sought for Cornwall Hospice Care's Santa Run taking place at Heartlands on Sunday, December 6.

Rose Beattie, Cornwall Hospice Care’s major event fundraiser, said: “The event is open to men and women, boys and girls, in fact everyone is welcome to join Team Santa in this festive fundraiser. What’s more you choose whether you run, jog or walk along the route.

"When you sign up you’ll receive a free Santa suit and you can join us for a mince pie and hot drink after the fun run to continue the merry making. Spaces are limited, so advanced registration is recommended and it’s just £12 for adults and £7 for children.

"The money raised will help us to continue working 24 hours a day to support patients with life limiting illnesses and their families, something we do in many different ways. Our clinical teams provide very specialist Palliative care in our two hospices at Mount Edgcumbe in St Austell and St Julia’s in Hayle, and also in Cornwall’s general hospitals and nursing facilities and in people’s homes.

"We also run a 24 hour advice line for other healthcare professionals who need our support. We do this with an extremely limited amount of funding from the NHS so events like this are vital and I’d like to thank everyone who chooses to take part for making a difference to people who need our help.”

The event will take place at Heartlands, Dudnance Lane, Pool at 1pm on December 6. To sign up visit the Cornwall Hospice Care website or follow this link http://www.everydayhero.co.uk/event/Santa-Series-Heartlands.
