CAMBORNE Science and International Academy students started the Christmas celebrations at their annual Carol concert on Thursday, December 10 at Camborne Wesley Methodist Chapel.
“Thank you to all those in our school community who attended our Christmas Celebration” said Steve Simmonds, Director of Key Stage 3 at CSIA. “It was such a lovely evening and we’re very proud of all the students involved.”
Cheveay Oakley, a Year 11 prefect, opened proceedings with a rendition of ‘Hallelujah’, accompanied by Ria Clemens on piano.
CSIA’s Head Boy, Frazer Hawkey, welcomed the congregation, followed by the Year 7 Choir singing carols and readers telling the Christmas story. Alan Pope and CSIA members of Camborne Youth Band entertained the congregation with their Christmas Medley, and a wonderful flute duet was performed by Jessica Chance and Kayleigh Williams.
“Despite being in-front of a large crowd, our students showed no sign of nerves and performed brilliantly. said Steve Simmonds. “It was a real community event treasured by all who attended.”
The address and blessing was delivered by Deacon Helen, member of CSIA’s Chaplaincy Team.
“This event is such a delight and a timely reminder of why we celebrate Christmas” added Vice Principal at CSIA, Mark Fenlon. “We were treated to some fantastic performances by very talented students!”
