When Father Christmas needed a shed to sit in while meeting children at Portreath Bakery in Pool, it was the Cornwall Shed Company who came to the rescue.

They provided him with a special wooden building, which they then offered up as a draw prize to help raise money for Cornwall Hospice Care. The win a shed draw proved enormously successful with more than 600 tickets sold, raising £1,226 for the charity.

Backing the fundraiser was Marion Symonds who runs Portreath Bakery and is a charity ambassador for Cornwall Hospice Care. She was helped by Angela Flamank from the charity. “We wanted to match the value of the shed but in the end we raised far more," said Marion.

The lucky winner was Simon Trestrail of Camborne who bought the ticket in the hope he would win the shed for his Mum. "I reckon he’s a very popular son right now, added Marion. "I’d like to thank everyone who took part for their generosity.”
