Camborne town councillors and members of the Camborne Fairtrade Group launched Fairtrade fortnight by flying the council’s new Fairtrade flag to celebrate the town’s re-accreditation as a Fairtrade Town.
Mayor Trevor Chalker said: "Camborne Town Council is proud to be associated with the Fairtrade ethos and organisation and pleased to re-affirm our commitment and support to the launch of Fairtrade Fortnight by the raising of a new Fairtrade flag."
Chairman of the amenities committee, Councillor Jacqueline Merrick added: "It’s fantastic that Camborne has retained its status as a Fairtrade town -long may it continue."
Camborne is one only three towns in Cornwall, the others being Falmouth and Truro, to have achieved Fairtrade status which reflects the strong values of the town. The renewal lasts for two years until, January 2018.
