Four Lanes Neighbourhood Watch Group will be holding a companion dog show Lanyon Holiday Park on Sunday, September 11, to raise funds towards its Senior Citizens Christmas Party.

The show, which will be held under Kennel Club rules, starts at 11am, with judging from 12 noon by Loreli Barstad

Rosettes will go to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in all classes, and there will be four classes for pedigree dogs only: Any variety puppy, six to 12 months; any variety sporting, hounds, terriers and gun dogs; any variety non-sporting, working, toy, pastoral, utility; and any variety open.

Fees for the pedigree classes will be £1.25 per entry.

There will also be novelty classes for non-pedigree dogs, with a £1 entry fee, in the following categories: any variety puppy, special yearling, most appealing eyes, best rescue or re-homed, best movement, prettiest bitch, handsome dog, best crossbreed, junior handling up to 16 years, waggiest tail, Irish brace - 2 dogs most unalike, best condition, best dog over 18” at shoulder, best dog under 18” at shoulder, best veteran - over 7 years, best local dog within a five mile radius.

Dogs must be kept on leads at all times, and the organisers have warned owners to be aware that if a dog is found to be in a vehicle and at risk, forcible entry to the vehicle may be necessary without liability for any damage caused.
