Three ladies darts teams took part in the darts marathon organised and judged by the Camborne Redruth & District Lions Club.

They competed at different venues to get the highest score over a set period of time and to raise sponsorship for two deserving causes St Julia’s Hospice and The Merlin Centre ‘Splash Out’ appeal On Wednesday, September 7 the Lions held a presentation evening at the British Rail Staff Club when Lion President Viv Broadhurst presented the Ladies British Rail B with a Lions’ Perpetual Shield, a dart board, medals and a certificate for raising the highest sponsorship with a sum totalling £771.

The Ladies from the Collins Arms with 24814 points were the runaway winners of the highest score and they were also presented with a Lions’ Perpetual Shield, a dart board, medals and a certificate.

Angie Nicholls from the British Rail had the highest 3 dart score with a 140. Lou Williams from the Collins Arms won the coveted “Clarissa Coules” salver with the highest individual aggregate score of 4973 A Lions Appreciation Certificate was also presented to the team from the St Rumons who scored 21152 points and were sponsored for £270.

Lion President Viv t thanked the Redruth Ladies Darts Secretary, Jeanette Perry for all the help that she had provided and also the continuing efforts of the Redruth Ladies Darts League for raising, this year, a fabulous sum of £1140 for the nominated charities.

Cheques for £750 were presented to Sarah Newton representing St Julia's Hospice and Sandy Hatcher from the Merlin Centre ‘Splash Out‘Appeal
