Mystery surrounds the moments leading up to a woman's death near Hayle yesterday morning after she was found lying on the pavement in front of her car.
Police are hoping for the public's help in piecing together the circumstances of the 66-year-old's death in what they described as "an incident" in Trevere Close in Connor Downs.
Emergency services were called at around 7.35pm on Sunday to reports of a woman in front of red Daewoo Matiz.
The woman, who was local to the area, was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital, where she later died after being "fatally injured." Her next of kin have been informed.
A police spokesperson said: "The death is not believed to be suspicious, however, the circumstances surrounding the death are being investigated and a post-mortem is due to take place."
Officers from the Roads Policing Team and Serious Collision Investigation Team are appealing for witnesses to come forward on 101, quoting log number 289 10/12/17.
