The family of Dolores Woolcock, who died following an accident near Hayle on Sunday have paid tribute, describing her as "kind and caring."

Ms Woolcock, aged 66, was found lying on the pavement in front of her car in Trevere Close, Connor Downs, on Sunday morning. Emergency services were called at around 7.35am to reports of a woman found in front of a red Daewoo Matiz.

Ms Woolcock was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske where she later died.

Her family have now released a statement through the police which says: "It is with immense sadness that the family of Dolores Woolcock have to announce her sudden death on Sunday the 10th of December.

“Delores was a loving, kind, and caring person. We will forever miss her beautiful smile and thoughtful ways. May you rest in peace safe in the arms of your mum and dad.

“Details of the funeral can be obtained from W.J Winn directors of Hayle.”

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Ms Woolcock's death. A spokesperson said: "The death is not believed to be suspicious, however, the circumstances surrounding the death are being investigated and a post-mortem is due to take place."

Officers from the Roads Policing Team and Serious Collision Investigation Team are appealing for witnesses to come forward and call 101, quoting log number 289 10/12/17.
