A 28-year-old man has died after being hit by as lorry on the A30 in Hayle yesterday evening.
Police were called to a collision on the A30 Hayle by-pass between the St Erth roundabout and the Loggans Moor roundabout in Hayle at around 7.15pm.
The accident involved a white commercial articulated heavy goods vehicle and a pedestrian who was in the Eastbound live lane.
As a result of the incident the pedestrian, a 28-year-old man from the St Erth area, died at the scene of the collision. His next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the HGV was uninjured in the incident.
The road was closed for just under six hours while officers from the Roads Policing Team and Serious Collision Investigation Team carried out a forensic examination of the scene.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward quoting log number 718 13/03/18.
