A HELSTON man who had a six-inch knife in a public place received a suspended eight-week prison sentence from Truro Magistrates on Monday.

Jason Rudd, aged 42, of Wendron Street, was in possession of the blade in the town’s Market Place on March 12.

Rudd was ordered to comply with a supervision period for 12 months which included alcohol treatment for six months.

A restraining order was also placed on him, forbidding him to visit an address in the town and not to enter or loiter outside a property in Market Place. The order lasts for three years.

He also received a four-week concurrent prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, for driving with excess alcohol.

On January 16 in Meneage Street, Helston, he was found to have 132mcgs of alcohol in his breath, which is almost four times over the legal limit.

A COMMUNITY order was made by Truro magistrates against Alden Evans, of Lower Penponds, Camborne on Wednesday.

The 41 year old must carry out 140 hours of unpaid work after pleading guilty to four offences that took place in Falmouth on September 21 last year.

He admitted assaulting a woman, damaging a guitar and television to the value of £230, damaging a white van to the value of £1300 and driving a van without due care and attention in Wellington Terrace.

He was also ordered to pay a total of £420 and had his driving licence with eight penalty points.

A DRINK driver was fined £360 after he was found to be twice the legal limit on Station Road, Pool.

Shaun Hatton, aged 31, from Pengegon, Camborne, had 70mcgs in his breath, compared to the legal limit of 35mcgs, when at the wheel of his Renault Clio.

He was also disqualified from driving for 18 months and had to pay £105 costs.

A KNUCKLE duster was found on a man whose case has been committed to Truro Crown Court for sentence.

Paul James Lynn, aged 28, from Brunton Road, Pool, carried the offensive weapon in Penryn Street, Redruth, on March 18.

After an indicated plea of guilty, he will be sentenced on May 10.

A 21 YEAR-OLD who stole lead flashing from Sancreed Church, near Penzance, has been fined £240.

Bradley William Baker, from Beacon Estate, Sancreed, was also found in possession of a Class A drug when he was in Camborne custody on the following day of the theft offence, in August last year.

He also has to pay £140 compensation, costs of £85 and victim services of £30.

A REDRUTH pensioner exceeded the legal alcohol limit when he drove a Mitsubishi Carisma in Sparnon Close on December 16.

Robert Lunn, aged 76, had 82 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, the legal limit being 80.

He admitted the offence and was disqualified from driving for 12 months. He was also fined £80, with £85 costs and £30 to victim services.

A DRINK driver has been banned for two years after being stopped in a Citroen in Penhale Road, Falmouth on March 25.

Esme Indiana Galbraith, aged 20, admitted the offence having recorded 91mcgs of alcohol in 100mcgs of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

Galbraith, from Newlyn, Penzance, was fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

A CAMBORNE man has received a 16-week suspended prison sentence after indicating a guilty plea to carrying a large, black hunting knife in a public place.

Stewart Lupton, of Pengwarras Road, was under the influence of alcohol and had made a threat to stab a friend with whom he had been arguing.

The 21 year old was also ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

DRUNK and disorderly behaviour on The Moor, Falmouth, resulted in an 18-month conditional discharge for a Truro teenager.

John Ross Medlyn, of Carew Pole Close, Malpas, was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

EXCEEDING the speed limit incurred a £440 fine for a 31 year-old Hayle man.

Billy Price, of Market Square, Copperhouse, drove an Audi on the A30 at St Erth over the national speed limit.

His licence was endorsed with five points and he had to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £44.
