A pedestrian has died following a collision on the A30 near Redruth in the early hours of this morning.

He is reported to be aged in his early twenties and from the local area.

The collision took place at Scorrier at around 1.15am today and is reported to have involved the man and a van.

He is said to have been pronounced dead at the scene.

The eastbound carriageway was closed for almost seven hours while police carried out investigations, with the road reopening just before 8am.
