A 45-YEAR-OLD man has died after falling from cliffs between Mutton Point and Godrevy Point yesterday lunchtime.

The Cornish man was pulled from the water at Mutton Cove near Godrevey Lighthouse but he had already died.

Intially coastguard rescue teams, RNLI lifeboats, lifeguards, helicopters and paramedics were called just after midday yesterday (16 June), after receiving reports that someone had fallen over the cliffs.

South Western Ambulance Service asked HM Coastguard to assist in the incident, resulting in both lifeboats from St Ives, the coastguard teams from Portreath and St Ives and lifeguards from Godrevy and Gwithian going to the scene along with the air ambulance.

Initially, HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopters from St Athan and then Newquay were requested, but then stood down.
