The start of May will see changes to bus timetables and routes that service Camborne, Redruth and Truro.

Transport company First says it is making the changes as part of integrating the Truronian services into the rest of its network.

A major change will see the frequency of buses between Truro and Falmouth increase to every 15 minutes from May 3.

The company says the changes will improve the bus network for most customers.

Marc Reddy, managing director of First Devon and Cornwall said: “As well as introducing bigger buses on the well used Truro to Falmouth corridor we are unifying all the vehicles in our fleet, replacing the old Truronian livery with First branding throughout.

“As a result the numbers of all the old Truronian services will change as the prefix T is removed and in some cases the routes of the services will be altered slightly as some Truronian and First routes are merged together.”

Bus drivers for the company will also be flying the flag for Cornwall.

Mr Reddy said; “We believe these changes will benefit most people in Cornwall, so we are celebrating their introduction as well as our own Cornish heritage. With this in mind, we have had some pin badges made featuring the St Piran flag and the First logo and our staff will wear them as they serve local people.”

Many of the services affected by the changes are run by First under contract with Cornwall Council.

Booklets detailing the route and timetable changes are available from First travel shops in Camborne, Truro from mid-April or they can be downloaded from the company’s website www.firstgroup.com/cornwall from April 6.

An information bus will also be on Lemon Quay in Truro from April 27 to May 2 with First staff on hand to answer any questions.
