A Carharrack Bed and Bed and Breakfast has been featured on the front cover of a novel.
The Bensons’ guesthouse at Primrose Cottage is on the front of Magnolia House, the first published book from novelist Pauline Barclay.
Magnolia House tells the story of Jane Leonard, who gave half of her house to her only son, little realising that within 12 months she would have to sell the property that she had lived in for nearly five decades.
Michael and Sue Beveridge, who run the guesthouse, said that they were surprised that they were asked, but delighted.
“We sent her several shots and she tweaked them so that it matched the book title, Magnolia House. Now our home has three names; Bensons, Primrose Cottage and, of course, Magnolia House.”
Pauline said: “The story does include a character that is very keen on the bed and breakfast business and it seemed so perfect to use Sue and Michael’s cottage for the cover.
“We have been friends for many years, and I just knew that their beautiful cottage would be suitable for my first book cover.”
