Kids can explore bug hotel at Maningham Wood

There will be a chance for kids to investigate, catch and identify creepy-crawlies that have taken up residence in a 'minibeast hotel' built by school children two years ago at Maningham Wood in Illogan.

All gloves and collecting equipment will be provided by Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s Fox Club and there will be an insect expert on hand to help with the identification and recording of all the creatures that the children catch.

Children should wear clothing appropriate for the weather and bring an adult to help them. The event is suitable for all ages and the wood has wheelchair-friendly paths throughout and a RADAR gate at the entrance.

• Saturday 30th June • 11am to 12.30pm • Meet at the entrance to Maningham Wood in the centre of Illogan, opposite the Co-op and the pasty shop.

• Booking preferred, so contact Sam Woon on (01872) 273939.

• £1 donation to Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s Fox Club is requested for each child attending.
