A motorist was caught as a second-time drink driver after staff at a Helston supermarket called the police and said they suspected her.
At Truro Magistrates’ Court Karen Lesley Sarilar, aged 51, of Godolphin Road, Helston, pleaded guilty to drink driving at Helston on March 28 when she tested at 116 mcg alcohol in breath, more than three times the limit. She had a similar previous conviction in 2009.
The court heard she was a single parent who used alcohol to relax because of stress.
Sarilar was fined £300 and £145 costs and surcharge, banned from driving for 40 months and given a year’s community order with a requirement to address alcohol abuse.
