A motorbike rider and pillion passenger have been left with 'life changing injuries' after crashing into railings on the A390 near Sainsbury's on Saturday.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a the serious collision on Station Road shortly after 4.15am on Saturday, (September 27).

A police spokesman said: "The motorcycle, travelling on Station Road, collided with metal railings on the pedestrian crossing on the approach to the roundabout with the A390, near Sainsbury’s.

"The male rider and female pillion passenger were ejected from the black Triumph Daytona 900cc motorcycle. They were both taken to Treliske Hospital with life changing injuries.

"The 31-year-old male rider from Truro suffered fractures to his legs and arm, and the 39-year-old female passenger suffered a fractured pelvis."

Officers from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit in Camborne would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or the manner of riding prior to the collision.
