The Falmouth Pink Wiggers made their return to fundraising in style when over 200 people created a sea of checked shirts and denim at the much anticipated barn dance.

Held at Falmouth Football Club, Pink Wig Events’ supporters were keen to get into the spirit of a good old fashioned hoedown, donning cowboy hats and boots in preparation for an evening of music and dance with The Other Band.

Helping them along the way was the band’s caller who took over the microphone and talked the dancers through the steps – a move which encouraged people out of their seats and onto the dance floor.

The Pink Wig committee also served chilli and chips to the guests and were delighted that by the end of the night, over £1,000 had been raised for breast cancer charities.

Chairperson, Emma Kent, said: “We were absolutely delighted and overwhelmed with the support and positive feedback we got from everyone who attended the barn dance.

“This night was just about telling people Pink Wig Events are back and continuing our support for Cornwall Breast Care Team and Breast Cancer Campaign, we just wanted to make enough money to break even, however to come away with £1,000 is just amazing. It was a fabulous night, thanks to all of our supporters, long may it continue.

“It's great to be back and we're very excited for 2015. Many thanks to Falmouth Football Club, Falmouth Town second team (who dressed in pink) and Susie at the club for their support of Pink Wig.”
