A Falmouth man charged with the murder of a driving instructor from the town has been released on bail in advance of a four week trail, due in April.
Trewen Kevern, 21, of Ashfield View, appearing alongside Kevin Cooper, 33, of Poldary View, Carharrack, pleaded not guilty to murdering David Alderson between January 16 and 19, this year.
Cooper entered a not guilty plea at a hearing at Truro Maguistrates Court in June this year.
The discovery of the body of 72 year old David Alderson, 72, at a disused mine sparked a major police investigation.
His body was found by a female dog walker at disused mine workings near Carharrack, at 9am on Saturday, January 18. He had suffered “significant” head injuries.
His body was found lying in a shallow pool, close to the main cycling area that is popular with cyclists and dog walkers.
The pair appeared before Exeter Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing.
Cooper was remanded in custody, while Kevern was granted conditional bail.
