Emergency traffic lights on one of the main roads out of Helston could be here to stay for a number of months.
Helston’s town councillors were told that damage to part of the road at Sithney Common Hill was worse that first anticipated.
Cornwall Councillor Phil Martin said that further cracking had been found, stretching down to Newham Lane.
As a result the temporary traffic lights might not be as temporary as initially thought, with repairs expected to be a “substantial job.”
He added: “I’m afraid there will be some delay in that – we’re hoping to go on site in early March. It could be some two, three or even four months of work there.”
