Helston Community College is hosting three themed events this week as part of Science Week.

The college is throwing open its doors to the public over three evenings, to allow them to “experiment” with different sessions.

The first takesplace on Monday, for anyone interested in psychology and the working of the brain.

The talk will be given by Guy Sutton, an honorary lecturer at the University of Nottingham Medical School, where he teaches medical students at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Wednesday’s event will be entitled “Fire and Ice”. Hosted by Jon Hitchcock, Helen Siseman and Ross Williamson, it is billed as “great fun for the whole family,” suitable from year three upwards, and explores the idea of energy in matter and chemical reactions.

Finally, there is A Journey through Time & Space on Friday. After a sell-out community lecture by James Chew, physics teacher at Helston Community College, this second one will take the audience on a journey through time and space.
