Older pupils from Porthleven Primary School were given a taste of the food hospitality industry when they visited their nearby Rick Stein restaurant.

The celebrity chef, which took over a restaurant on the harbourside last November, encourages schoolchildren to take part in workshops at his various restaurants in order for them to see what goes into running one.

Over two separate sessions, year five and six pupils learnt about what the different knives and forks were used for, the various drinks served and how food was cooked. They even got to sample some dishes themselves, including lemon sole, before practising their serving skills.
