Organisers of Penryn Week are calling for help with a project documenting the town during World War Two.
After a successful World War One commemoration during last year’s Penryn Week, information is wanted for a similar project this year, and those behind the bid are particularly interested in those who died between 1939 and 1945 and whose names are engraved on a plaque in the Memorial Garden. Unlike the names on the WWI memorial, these names have no other details.
Project leaders are asking relatives to come forward with information so research can be carried out. A talk will be given during Penryn Week in July and on the commemoration of VE/VJ Day in August.
Any information can be passed to Penryn Town Council on 01326 373086 or emailed to Councillor Chaz Wenmoth at penrynww1@gmail.com
