A kayaker and his dog had to be rescued from rocks in Gerrans Bay after a wave tipped him out of his boat on Sunday afternoon.
Falmouth RNOI launched its inshore lifeboat at around 3pm, launched following reports that the man was stranded on the rocks between Carne Beach and Nare Head.
An RNLI spokesperson said: "A fellow kayaker indicated that the casualty and his dog were on the rocks nearby. "The inshore lifeboat was manoeuvred close to the rocks allowing both the kayaker and his dog to be recovered to the inshore lifeboat."
They man and his dog were landed at Carne Beach, and the other kayaker followed them in, before the lifeboat departed.
The two kayakers had been exploring the coastline of Gerrans Bay when a wave had tipped one of them into the water, and being unable to get back on his craft he had clambered onto the rocks.
The other kayaker, unable to reach his companion, had taken the stray boat in tow and waited for assistance.
