Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision near Truro at the weekend.
Officers were called to the collision that happened on Sunday 28 June just after 2.30pm near Tregony.
The collision involved a grey Volkswagen Passat which was travelling on the A3078 from Ruan High Lanes heading towards Tregony.
A 43-year-old female driver was trapped in the vehicle and extracted by the fire service. She sustained potentially life changing injuries and was initially taken to Royal Cornwall Hospital by ambulance.
The casualty, who lives locally, was then transferred to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth where she remains in a critical but stable condition.
