The Andy Hocking memorial fund received another boost on Friday as Falmouth's mayor was handed a cheque for £600 by staff of Tesco on Killigrew Street.
Customers at the store donated the money in just 11 days, after fresh food manager Kirsty O'Neill had the idea of collecting for the fund.
John Haymes, store manager, said: "All we've done is put a collection point at the front of the store, for the customers and colleagues."
Mayor John Body said: "This shows a magnificent effort from the Tesco customers, and I would like to congratulate the staff on what they have achieved.
