Police conducting traffic stops in Penryn found one driver to be five times over the legal alcohol limit on Sunday morning.
Officers stopped around 12 vehicles on Falmouth Road as part of an operation targeting various motoring offences, with driver found to be breaking the law, from driving while using a mobile phone, failing to wear a seat belt, and one drink driving offence.
PCSO Chris Braddon said the drink driver's breath test result was "the highest I've ever seen," and added "he will end up disqualified for a while."
He said: "Other motorists were breathalysed but blew under the legal limit. On each occasion the motorist had been drinking the previous evening and still had alcohol in their system at mid day showing how easy it is to be caught out drink driving the next day.
"If prosecuted for drink driving motorists can expect a lengthy driving ban and a fine to accompany it."
