Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is hoping to have 500 ladies take part in its upcoming, special Moonlight Memory Walk which is returning to Falmouth for the seventh year on Saturday October 3.

The Moonlight Memory Walk is a truly special evening where ladies come together to remember their loved ones with a beautiful memory ceremony and then take part in a sponsored 5 mile circular walk at 10pm around Falmouth in celebration. Ladies are encouraged to decorate candle bags in memory of their loved ones, these are then placed around the fountain on the Moor, in the centre of Falmouth, creating a unique centre piece for the event village.

This year CHSW is delighted to have Ocean Falmouth sponsoring the event and Pirate FM will also be there on the evening to provide entertainment before the walk begins.

Kiley Tellam, Events Fundraiser for CHSW wants to encourage those who have taken part before to return and those who haven’t yet been involved to do this year. Kiley says “Our Moonlight Memory Walk is such a special event for a lot of reasons and we already have more than 150 ladies signed up. We have ladies taking part with friends, colleagues, mums, daughters, aunties and cousins. We all come together to remember our loved ones and celebrate special memories whilst creating new memories on the evening.”

The Moonlight Memory Walk raises vital funds for CHSW which supports children who sadly will not live to adulthood due to life limiting illnesses. CHSW supports the whole family through their three hospices in the south west including Little Harbour in St Austell which costs over £2 million a year to run, almost all of which comes from donations.

If you are interested in signing up for this year’s Falmouth Moonlight Memory Walk then simply visit www.chsw.org.uk/moonlight and you can register online. Any ladies from the age of 14+ years can join in the event. Registration costs just £10 and ladies are encouraged to raise as much sponsorship as possible.
