Almost 100 walkers enjoyed glorious sunshine while taking part in this year's Fal River Walk which was in stark contrast to the previous event which had been washed out by heavy rain.

Organised by the Rotary Club of Truro Boscawen with a revised format using Trelissick House for the start and finish with the most intrepid folk opting for the complete 15 mile walk over to St Mawes and then back from Flushing via Restronguet using ferries to cross the water at various points.

A smaller group with less time tackled the shorter route using a ferry to St Mawes and then walking back via St Just in Roseland.

Some of the profits from the day will go to the National Trust and local Rotary charities, but the principal beneficiary is the be the Cove Project to build a new Macmillan Support and Treatment Centre in Truro.

Rotary marshals along the route were supported by volunteers from the local Raynet group providing excellent radio communications to ensure all went according to plan.
