The fire service has reiterated its advice on candles following a fire at a Helston home yesterday evening (24/11).
Firefighters were sent to fight a small fire above the fireplace of a mid-terrace house in Meneage Street at around 6.10pm.
Two fire engines attended, and crew wearing breathing apparatus used a hosereel to put out the flames before completing a home fire safety check.
A Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "The fire involved candles and the cause was accidental and confined."
They reiterated advice on using candles, which can be found at www.cornwall.gov.uk/community-and-living/cornwall-fire-and-rescue-service-homepage/keeping-safe/fire-safety-at-home/prevent-a-fire-in-your-home/candles/
