THE winner of the Vocal Championship Class at Camborne Music Festival was won by Mezzo Soprano Elaine Miller who is also a member of Mabe Ladies Choir.

This is only the second time that Elaine, who is Falmouth born and bred, has entered the Camborne Music Festival. She said was thrilled and absolutely delighted to not only win the Joan Jacka Cup for the Vocal - Mezzo Soprano Solo Class but to also win the Col. S Smith Cup in the Vocal - Ladies' Open Class.

The festival took place on Wednesday, November 11 and on the Friday of that week she was invited by the adjudicator to take part in the vocal championship class on the Saturday, along with five other competitors who had won their particular classes.

"To win two classes was a fantastic experience but to then win the Championship Class alongside such illustrious and experienced soloists was not only humbling but an unexpected achievement," said Elaine. "This award is the culmination of months of hard work with her vocal coach Melanie Uren, organist and choir mistress of St Constantine Parish Church and MD of the Trengilly Singers who entered and won all four classes at the Camborne Music Festival.
