The 65-year-old man who died following a two-vehicle crash on the A390 at Probus has been formally identified as Keith Hurren from Chacewater.
Police, fire and ambulance were called to the crash which involved a Toyota RAV4 and a Land Rover Defender at 11am on Monday.
The driver of the RAV4 sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The A390 at Probus was closed for around four-and-a-half hours as a police scenes of collisions team attended.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident and anyone who can help is asked to call the police on 101 or email 101@devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk, quoting log number 232 of 01/02/16.
