Two barbers from Helston will be on the other end of the razor next week when they have their heads shaved for charity.

Andy Perry, owner of Andy's Barbers in Coinagehall Street, along with staff member Catherine Croydon, will be taking the "bald" step to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The charity runs a Brave the Shave campaign each year and, after performing many a charity hair cut and head shave on other people, this year Andy and his team felt it was time to be on the receiving end.

Andy's wife Michelle said: "They saw the adverts for Brave the Shave for Macmillan and Cath said to Andy that they should do it.

"We obviously have the perfect place for it, but it's just something that they felt they could do and be in a prime spot for attracting donations.

"It's a charity that most of us have, or sadly will, come across in one way or another and if we can help raise its awareness and support it by raising money, I think we should go for it."

In the run up to the cut on Friday, August 5 the barbers will be taking donations. On the day itself the cost of all coffee purchased in its cafe area will go to the charity and there will be plenty of cake for sale as well.
