Councillors in Penryn have said while revised plans for a block of students homes behind Lower Market Street are "an improvement" there is still more changes that could be made.

Members of the town's planning committee heard a presentation from Mark Dawes of CAD Architects on plans for the 24 bed development on the site of Brigantine, next to Permarin car park.

The new plans show four six-bedroom terraced houses of what Mr Dawes described as a vernacular design, and the meetings minutes show that councillors said it "was an improvement on the previous application" but "raised concerns around lack of parking provision."

Councillors also questioned the use of UPVC window frames which could set a precedent in the town's conservation area, where wooden frames would be in keeping, and councillor Mark Snowdon said he felt the shape of the roof would be out of character with the roofline of the street.
