Bedrock came to Falmouth on Wednesday (19/10) as the pupils of St Francis school went back to the stone age.

There weren't any Flintstones style cars or dinosaur pets, and instead the children spent the day making bread, building dens and cooking at the firepit, as well as making palaeolithic landscape pictures.

To add to the fun, they dressed in a wild array of furs, with clubs, spears, and other props as well.

Year three teacher Sarah Wade said: "On Wednesday, year three had a living history day. We went back in time and found out what life was like during the stone age. It was a great way to finish our topic 'Set in Stone'.

"The day involved supervised cooking at the firepit as well as creating Stonehenge silhouettes and making dens. All of the children and teachers wore stone age costumes and looked fantastic."
