The sixth annual Westcountry Tourism Conference has been confirmed for February 8 and 9 at the Westpoint Arena in East Devon.

The event has grown each year with 2016 seeing a sell-out event for over 250 delegates. This year's conference builds on feedback from past events, with some changes to the format and again running over two consecutive days, alongside the Source trade show.

The first day will focus on customer service, with keynote speaker Geoff Ramm talking about ‘Celebrity Service.’ Geoff is an internationally renowned speaker who proved popular at two recent Cornwall tourism conferences. He will be supported by Kurt Janson of the Tourism Alliance, who will update on tourism post Brexit; Terry Falcão from Stephens Scown solicitors and Dave Jackson from YMCA Somerset Coast and Beach Hotel.

Day two will have a marketing and digital theme with speakers from Tripadvisor, Clockwork Marketing, SoundView, Cosmic, Acorn T-Stats, Stephens Scown and NewSilkRoute. There will also be updates from VisitEngland and VisitDevon and on the new Seafood Coast and South West Coast Path initiatives.

Conference organiser Robin Barker, director of Services for Tourism, said: “I am delighted to have secured Geoff Ramm as our keynote speaker on the first day, complemented by a range of expert speakers throughout the two days. I am confident that the conference will once again provide invaluable tips to any tourism business aiming for excellence.”

Places at the conference must be booked in advance and cost £25 plus VAT per day for members of partner organisations and £35 for non-members. Full details and online booking are at westcountrytourismconference.org.uk and @WCTConf on Twitter.
