A meet and greet was held recently at Bickland House to make people aware of Work Routes, a free support service provided by Reed in Partnership on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions.

Work Routes is a program which has been established to help people who are struggling to find work, and aims to assist people in overcoming any issues that are holding them back.

Whether people are long-term unemployed, suffer from mental health issues or are economically inactive the team at Work Routes, headed up by Ed Atter, will try to help.

Advisers at the centre, funded by the European Social Fund, will help write CV's, offer advice and do whatever they can to help people get back into work.

Ed Atter, operations manager, said: "There are all sorts of reasons why people are out of work, what we do is help people to over come those problems and get back into work.

"We sent out 5,000 leaflets to let people know that we are here, and invited a range of employers and support groups as well.

"In the Falmouth area there is a lack of opportunities, but for us its about helping people to overcome their issues that stop them working.

"In this area there is the aspect of seasonal work, and people struggle to find year round work.

"At the minute we just want to let the unemployed, and employers, know that we are here, and we can help."
