Residents of a rural village near Helston have been left without phone lines or internet for nearly two weeks, after a crash destroyed a telephone pole.

The crash, on a busy junction in Nancegollan, damaged the telephone lines which serve more than 30 houses.

Residents of the small village have been unable to use their phones, or log onto the internet, since Good Friday, 13 days ago.

A spokesperson from BT said: "This is a complex repair involving the replacement of a damaged pole and overhead cabling and the use of traffic management.

"We currently have a team of eight engineers on site working to complete the repair as quickly as possible.

"We hope to have restored service for most customers by end of today and to have completed the job by end of tomorrow. "Thirty two customers have reported a fault."
