Falmouth-based law firm Hine Downing has welcomed three top class recruits to further strengthen its management and conveyancing teams.

Chartered accountant David Quinn has taken over the operational running of the firm as practice manager, having worked in Cornwall for many years including as finance director of Rider’s Garages Ltd and most recently of Cornwall Air Ambulance.

Solicitor Karen Wright adds her wealth of experience to Hine Downing’s residential department, dealing as she does with all aspects of residential property transactions. Karen relocated to Cornwall a decade ago having previously been a partner of a law firm in Wales

Latest arrival, solicitor Jenna Roe, will be working across the firm’s commercial and residential teams. Like David and Karen she has strong links with Cornwall in general and the Falmouth area in particular and wanted to be part of a strong team with Cornish roots and great community values.

“Yet again we are really pleased to have attracted new colleagues of such high calibre in their particular fields – who value being part of a united team with a deep involvement in the wider community,” says Hine Downing partner John Lowry.

“We provide an excellent service across all our legal specialisms and Karen and Jenna will be a tremendous asset to our clients hoping to buy or sell homes or business premises. From a management perspective, we all need that reassuring presence keeping a handle on the day to day running of the firm and that’s where David is an essential member of the team.”

The trio all keep up the standard of Hine Downing’s extra-curricular links: as well as supporting Falmouth’s rugby, cricket, sailing, tennis and football communities, the firm has active ties within local schools and charities with partner Will Richards just appointed chair of Falmouth Age Concern.

Extending the list of outside activities, David has been involved with local theatre groups for many years, currently with King Charles Mummers; Jenna is a qualified flying instructor originally through 626 volunteer gliding squadron at Predannack Airfield on The Lizard; and Karen is a keen horsewoman although her “free” time is now monopolised by the multiple sporting activities of her children.

"As a long-established Falmouth firm we’ve always been proud of our links with the local community, our wealth of expertise and our capacity to go the extra mile in all we do,” says John Lowry. “We know Jenna, Karen and David already embrace those values as we welcome them into the Hine Downing team.”
