Cornwall’s British Jazz Award winner Amy Roberts, a former Helston School Jazz Orchestra member, is bringing a world class combination of musicians to perform a very special Christmas charity concert in Helston on Tuesday, December 19.

This will be the fourth jazz evening hosted by Alf Merritt and John and Isabel Austin and they’ll once again be celebrating the musical influence the Helston School Jazz Orchestra has had on past students. They will be holding a raffle to help the orchestra fund their upcoming activities.

The concert will be held at the Godolphin Club at 7.30pm and proceeds will go to the British Heart Foundation.

Amy (flute, clarinet and alto/baritone saxes) will be joined by acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Richard Exall (clarinet, tenor/alto saxes) and the Craig Milverton Trio. Amy and Richard work regularly with Craig at music festivals and clubs throughout the UK and this concert promises to be a tremendous evening of mesmerising music making of the highest level.

The concert’s programme will include an inspiring evening of music ranging from the early days of jazz standards to ballads, to rip-roaring Latin numbers, jive and swing. Something for every musical taste.
