A WOMAN was treated by paramedics after an hour long search ended when a rescue helicopter’s infrared camera found her sitting in a yacht.
Street pastors alerted the authorities about a woman in the water around half past midnight and shortly afterwards a helicopter search was initiated.
After searching for just over an hour, the helicopter spotted a heat source coming from the yacht and upon further inspection the woman was found aboard at around 2am.
After being taken back to shore, the woman received care from paramedics. Her condition is currently still unknown.
The search was conducted using a coastguard helicopter from Newquay as well as the Falmouth Coastguard rescue team and Falmouth RNLI.
The RNLI have issued advice to people who unexpectedly fall into cold water, suggesting that they should float on their back until their breathing returns to normal before attempting to swim.
