The pool and gym complex at the fire-ravaged Falmouth Beach Hotel is to reopen its doors this month, less than six months after the devastating blaze.

The leisure area at the back of the building was largely undamaged by the fire that ripped through the hotel on April 30, but has been forced to remain closed until now for health and safety reasons.

It will reopen on Monday, October 15, and will be accessible through the entrance on Gyllyngvase Hill.

It will offer full opening hours from 7am to 10pm daily.

All gym and spa facilities will be back up and running, and classes will restart as soon as possible.

Swimming lessons will resume after the October half term with the waiting list still in effect from before the fire.

The condemned sections of the hotel are currently being demolished to make way for a rebuild at the site opposite Gyllyngvase Beach.

As such, no parking is available on site, so it is suggested that visitors park on Stracey Road or in the public car park opposite the hotel.

“We’re delighted to once again provide one of the facilities Falmouth Beach has been so popular for”, said Ryan Ohly, general manager of the hotel.

“We’ve worked hard to ensure the Beach Club will still be an enjoyable, relaxing and above all safe place to spend time.

“I’d like to thank all the Beach Club users for their patience since the fire, we can’t wait to welcome them back.”
